Dr. Robert Jackson, MD, MMM (President)

Dr. Robert Jackson, MD, MMM, is a board-certified in Family Medicine physician with a distinguished career in clinical practice and healthcare leadership. He earned a medical degree from Wayne State University, and holds a Master of Medical Management from the H. John Heinz School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie-Mellon University. Dr. Jackson began practicing in 1985 and co-founded Western Wayne Physicians in 1996, which has grown into a 13 physician, three-office private practice group in Southeastern Michigan.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Jackson has made significant contributions to healthcare leadership. Dr. Jackson is an active member of the American Medical Association (AMA), Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS), Wayne County Medical Society (WCMS), American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL), as well as the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP). He served as the 2016-2017 President of the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) and currently holds the position of Treasurer for the Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan (FMFM). Dr. Jackson also plays an active role in Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Primary Care Leadership Council and sits on the Board of Trustees
at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital (HFWH).

Committed to alleviating illness within his communities, Dr. Jackson actively engages in initiatives aligned with that mission. He co-founded the Department of Family Medicine at HFWH and later served as its chair. When the Leapfrog Group expanded into Michigan, Dr. Jackson joined the oversight committee of the Michigan Health & Safety Coalition. This involvement led to his appointment to spearhead efforts in enhancing critical care quality at HFWH, reflecting his
dedication to improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.

As a founding leader of two Independent Physician Associations, he continues to support healthcare delivery innovation and currently serves as President and Medical Director of Accountable Healthcare Advantage (AHA), a physician organization that achieves top-tier performance in cost and quality metrics. His leadership extends to Aledade (formerly Medical Advantage) as Medical Director, where he provides strategic oversight in medical management
and clinical guidance to strengthen operational outcomes.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Jackson stays active playing hockey four times a week and serves on the Board of Session at Fort Street Presbyterian Church in Detroit. He has been married to Nancy M. Jackson, PhD, since 1979 and enjoys spending time with their three daughters and five grandchildren.
